The purpose of the piston rod packing case is to prevent the leakage of gas through the clearance between the compressor cylinder head and the reciprocating piston rod. We manufacture most OEM replacement cases to any specification needed by the customer.
The packing cups are machined to allow a nominal clearance around the piston rod. The cup faces are lapped flat and parallel to ensure perpendicularity to the piston rod.
Pressure and Wiper Packing

These rings are the elements that make the seal, and compensate for wear, changes in temperature, and movement of the compressor rod. PPC packing uses techniques developed in the polyurethane industry. Today we supply many types of packing and wiper rings.
